- "Basalt's parents were travelers, scouring the vast desert for anything of value in exchange for water. When Basalt was born, his parents soon discovered his crystals were of great value and tried to take them from him. He escaped, but not before they had torn chunks of the rubies from him. He wandered the desert for 6 years, living off of begging and then environment.
He was raised by the general of the Kingdom of Sands"
